An Invitation to the 5th African Retina Society (ARS) Conference By The Program Chairman
It gives me great pleasure, as the chairman of the 5th African Retina Society (ARS) conference scientific program, to invite you to, yet, another epic meeting that will hold in the breathtaking and iconic Victoria Falls – which has earned the status of a UNESCO World Heritage site. The choice of this location, as this year`s meeting venue, is by no means accidental, as it is primed to give you the relaxed environment for scientific learning and social interaction that will occur on the 2nd and 3rd days of July 2025, at CRESTA Sprayview Hotel in the resort town of Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe.
The ARS brings together all things “Retina” in Africa and advocates for evidence-based patient care, innovative solutions to unique African situations, and advancement of the art and science of medical and surgical retina in Africa. Our goals are achieved through scientific research, collaboration with industry and stakeholders, building bridges, and forging lasting beneficial relationships. With this in mind, we have carefully chosen the theme of this conference – “Bridging the Gap: Making Retinal Services Accessible!”
This theme reflects the ideals we aim to achieve. We seek to foster relationships and bring cutting-edge retinal services to the African populace.
There will be keynote addresses from seasoned and experienced retinal specialists and enriching scientific presentations, panel discussions, and presentations from our industry partners.
The call for abstract submissions has already been made and submissions are underway. The appeal I make is, “Please, submit your abstracts for consideration using the link https://www.africaretinasociety.com/call-for-abstract-page/.”
There will be opportunity for our industry partners to showcase the latest technologies available for patient care in our region and I kindly persuade you not to remain behind.
I invite you to be part of this unique African history by registering for the conference and making plans to join us in Victoria Falls.
Let your voice be heard as we shape the future of retinal practice in Africa. Engage with colleagues and stakeholders at the ARS conference. Build lasting bridges within and outside Africa to foster patient care and improve retinal science and practice in Africa.
Let us once again stand for and with Africa at ARS 2025!
Let me also take this opportunity to announce that those of us who enjoy wellness activities and fitness, there is going to be a Victoria Falls historic marathon on the weekend (7th July 2025). Bookings got the marathoners underway. See details on https://www.vicfallsmarathon.com
